Beth and Robert Harding, and daughter Claire's visit in 2006
The preceding photo is of cousin Beth at one of her international partner WIs in North Wales near to Chester on her family visit to the UK in 2006. The weather was very wintery and we had considerable snowfall. For some reason I failed to file photographs of Robert or Claire on this occasion! But I did get a substantial amount of video. I look forward to visiting the family at Woodville, North Island during my stay this year.
My Hollier cousins
My cousins, Gloria and David Hollier, who live in Tawa, Wellington, New Zealand have generously decided to organise my trip while in New Zealand, visiting relatives of course and places of interest that they can suggest, plus any that may have taken my eye from the books and leaflets available to me. The following photo was taken on their visit to the UK in 2007.
Progress to date
Well, I have now organised the flights on my trip to New Zealand. I shall be leaving the UK on 1st November and will return to the UK by the 6th December. On my outward journey,
after leaving Manchester on BMI flight BD591, I fly to Hong Kong via Heathrow with Air New Zealand flight NZ38 Club Class. Then, following a stopover for three nights, 2nd to 4th November, at the Harbour Plaza Hotel, Hong Kong, I transfer to Air New Zealand flight NZ82 Club Class on the 5th November for the remainder of this leg to Auckland, arriving on the 6th November local time.
I leave New Zealand on Air New Zealand flight NZ2 Club Class on December 2nd en route to Los Angeles where I gain a day over the international date line arriving there at 14.00 hours on the same date. I am booked to stay for the three nights 2nd 3rd and 4th December at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, downtown in Los Angeles. I then depart from Los Angeles on the 5th December on Flight NZ 22 arriving in Heathrow on Sunday the 6th December, and transferring to BMI flight BD598 scheduled to reach Manchester at 16.15 the same afternoon.

More convenient than e-mail
At last I have decided to make the trip to visit my relatives in New Zealand, sometime at the end of 2009 during their spring. And so I thought that I would set up a blog to record my daily diary while on the trip which is available to any of my relatives or friends who feel disposed to know what I am up to (that can be published that is), and to include photos from time to time. And of course it will also provide me with a memento of an exciting journey on my return to the UK. SO! HERE GOES! Wish me luck!
